Petunia

From a Slightly Masochistic Petunia
I'm so sexy I could spit!
Please notice my dark, velvet tongue
lapping at the ground, lightly.
Ah! Deep-throated cry:
My want poisons me.
Stay with me, snap my blossom,
please, while I am coming down from passion,
or I'll die, lie dormant.
The idea of a swaying, living bloom.
- Mary R. Bast

Wanted to post a poem with this photo, but me being the rotten poet that I am couldn't even two lines of verse to go with it - then I stumbled on this poem and simply couldn't resist posting it - the connotations totally left me agape.

P.S These pretty Petunias bloomed on our balcony under my mother's loving care - she has the green thumb, not me - lending a splash of colourful to our collection of plants striving to stay alive under the cruelty of the summer sun.

P.P.S Check out my foot clad in Blue Osho Chappals ;-)

See, how associations work. I saw the title and the first thing that came to my mind was Aunt Petunia. I hope the sexy flower doesn't feel slighted because of that :-)

Parth - You too!

Elixir - And you too - how come I am the only person who didn't think of Aunt Petunia?
Oh yeah that's one good thing abt living in Pune - pick up Osho's chappals for 50 bucks...have an assortment of them in several colours to match my mood...though they need to be replaced now. Lots new colours out...yippeee!! :-)

HN - Osho's(Rajneesh) Commune is in Koregaon Pune - pretty close to where I stay. They have these chappals with a straw base (damn good during summer) and these velvetty straps that come in a range of colours. They are a big rage - helps that they are so comfy and are perfect for beach-wear/lounging at home or just worn with jeans/skirts/dresses when you're out with friends or even for college - I know ppl who keep one pair at work, and slip into them these days when it's too hot to have your feet encased in shoes all day!!
Enlightened now?

PS Flickr aint down!! It's working just fine...

I read this humerous line of rhyming verse I had once read and noted and it involved petunias. Here goes
"I rose as one in a trance, picked up my gun, stepped to the petunia bed and
shot the pig dead where he fed"

I found very funny thats all.
