When I took up class with kids, I knew I was in for a challenging ride, especially since I've never really had the kids eating out of my hands. Expected them to be mischievous, talkative, over-smart and yes even brattish - and was prepared to deal with all of that. Insolence, I had neither expected nor can I stomach. The red-alert danger signs had flashed in my head last week, with my first adolescent's class, but I chose not to over-react, figuring the kid needed time to settle in - but today I came so so close to throwing something at him. Never before did corporal punishment seem so appealing! Still fighting the urge to go to higher authorities with the matter but don't see how else to settle the issue, since the brat obviously isn't interested...
That was stressful enough, but when I had to spend nearly two hours commuting home after that (no, I haven't moved back to Bombay, this is Pune I'm talking about!) I was so god-damned tired. Oh please let me get the regular courses soon...and please let us move out of the back-of-the-beyond soon!
Je suis fatiguée. Je veux dormir. C'est tout.
PS Don't anyone dare welcome me into the real world - I shall growl. That's a promise!

Aristera - Badmaash baccha! *baring teeth and growling deep in my throat*
ah ha:-)
welcome then!;-)
a smile :-)
I think it si okay to sometimes indulge in corporal punishment - Spare the rod and spoil the child!
HahahAHAHAHAHA
Take the kid out. Feed him a samosa and some juice..talk with him..understand what his problem is..
And since that won't work, bash him anyways :)
Sagar
WD - Grrrr...you asked for it!
Sreekesh - :-)
... - Not in today's world, defi not in today's private schools AND defi not when the student happens to be huger than you!
Sagar - Sigh I wish I could bash him, but as I said above, unlikely in this case!
i say u show him hwo is the bigger brat in the clas
pretty women-teachers in their first weeks in class -- you know what is bound to happen
da boy likes you
hope and wish that you'll get them interested. You being in love with the subject, there's a good chance. Those are the best teachers
Please, post receipe for color for to put on bottle.
Aparna - Now that's an interesting idea ;-)
Lotus - Jeez you're right, so much philosophising for such a matter! ;-) Actually I went through all of this thought-process myself...no way is any kid of mine turning out like this brat. You can take this in writing..I hope he'll come around, but first I need to put him in place! Tuesday it shall happen!
Liese - Horror of horrors I do NOT want kid like that having crush on me! There are other brats tht I'd rather be interested in me ;-)
As for recipe for glass painting - if you could drop me an email I'd explain properly...but in the meanwhile - I basically use the ready-to-use stain glass colours you get in the market. There are many options available - the rest is like with any art work. Design (from somewhere or frm your own imagination), brushes, cleaning cloth etc...and creativity ofcourse, the most important ingredient!
Lotus - LOL, not exacly scheduled a day...it's just that my next class with him is on Tuesday! Though I quite agree with your descrip of Geebaby scorned! :-D
As for your example, trust me, this case is very different...
