Lullaby for the Baby

Sent to me by a Fellow Blogger, for my little nephew - thought I'd post it here in lieu of a post from me, which is long over-due. I'm so tired these days by the end of the day I can barely bring myself to sign-in and check my mail and drop by my favourite Blogs; just the thought of penning down anything for a half-decent post fatigues me even more! So until I get around to storing energy to write a post, and inject some sense of routine back into my life...here's a little lullaby for the baby, courtesy Sreekesh. Thanks Sree!

la la la la ....Mm ..Mmm. Hmm..Hmm...

Little fingers and tiny toes
Baby face and all its glows
You are now our brightest shine
That star I can call mine

Your mama is sleeping
Dreaming of her little sun
Your daddy is out searching
For a name for his everything

Baby boy you are our everything
Our everything, our everything

la la la la ....
la la la la...
Mmm...Mmm. Hmm..Hmm...

Holding you little nephew
In my arms , watching you wink
Stealing my heart with your every look
Singing you slowly, slowly to sleep

Your mama is sleeping
Dreaming of her little sun
Your daddy is out searching
For a name for his everything

Baby boy you are our everything
Our everything, our everything

This is gods will little one
You in my arms, in my eyes
In my heart and In my life
You are my little prince

I will be your best friend
I will even teach you all my tricks
Even make you the best baby of the house
Oh yes baby boy , much better than I

la la la la ....Mm ..Mmm. Hmm..Hmm...

Your mama is sleeping
Dreaming of her little sun
Your daddy is out searching
For a name for his everything

Baby boy you are our everything
Our everything, our everything
Our everything!

Ah, very nice. Somehow even I am finding it hard to post as regularly these days.

I agree with your comment about 'In a moment' contrasting with Gulnaz's post. Maybe we should put them together.

hmmm...lullaby's who said only babies want to hear them...i want one too. ;)

in agreement about your comment regarding juxtaposing my piece with A's though honestly speaking since he writes better than me, i'd be shy.

you have no clue HOW im forcing myself to go read blogs. sheh. falling asleep on the keyboard, and that's been happening since 1:15 am. I feel OLD. Sigh.

Are your family nice people? As in people who care and value books and stuff? Cos I got lotsa books, and baby books, but the only people with any kids are my maternal family, and they're genetically allergic to reading.

Oh, and try gt a movie called j'me sens pas belle. I just watched it, its quite hilarious and shot very well too.you'll enjoy. :)

Phal - Yes yes my family is VERY nice! :-) Though my bro never read many books, and my bhabhi doesn't read AT ALL (applalled!), my folks and I are regular book-eaters! Infact I have these very strong ideas abt how kids should be brought up and a staple diet of GOOD books is a MUST in addition to good nutritious food and all those rules abt minding your Ps and Qs!

HN - Ahem, sounds like any other lullaby to me. So are we saying that all lullabyes sound gay?
Incidentally - what's wrong with gay? Are we objecting to the concept of homosexuality here, or that perhaps this might be written by someone who's not straight (which as far as I know isn't the picture, but even if it is, so what?)???

Rahul - Yeah cute na? I thought so too :-)

Hmmm...I thought the lullaby a bit sinister...no, wouldn't sing it to any baby...

What I WOULD recite, though, would be a lullaby written by a gay poet, one of my favs, incidentally, w.H.Auden...

Lay your sleeping head, my love...

THAT one! [not that the baby would know if I recited a lullaby or the Periodic Table, which also sounds very stately, btw...all those latinisms...]
