Feeling Good...

Yesterday in class I received a compliment that made me blush - an occassional compliment now and then is more than welcome (it's good for my ego), but when it's accompanied by a full assessment of my personality it can get VERY uncomfortable...the compliment yesterday really took me by surprise, specially since I'd already been gifted with kind words already earlier that day...

Later, I was thinking about it and I realised that I've been feeling good about myself lately and it's obviously reflecting in my demeanour, for I've been much more positive, not to mention 'sociable'...things have finally settled down at home and I've been studying (it never fails to cure me of my maudlin thoughts and my stress) and reading.

Initially when I started getting up at 6 am with the cries of my little nephew demanding milk, I'd wake up disgruntled and irritable, but gradually I've fallen back on my old habits of waking up early and have gone back to finding it refreshing...sure I can still sleep merrily till 9 am (and I did that just yesterday) but when I wake up early, I profit from the calm coolness of the morning and indulge in some yoga and rumination while gazing down from the balcony at those playing tennis in the tennis court.

Now if only some things would stop affecting me so much....

Music of the moment :- Guantanamera - Joe Dassin. There are several versions of this song, but it was originally composed by Jose Fernandez Diaz - it's obviously in Spanish and is beautifully melodious and touches the soul, even if you don't understand the words. I've been hearing it since I was a child, and downloaded Dassin's version only a couple of years back. Dassin's version is in French ;-) - goes without saying doesn't it? Another Spanish classic I love is Hasta Manana - ABBA has done a version, but this is one time I'd prefer the Spanish version over ABBA!
