Call it random rambling or call it a quick update of the last few days/a preview into what's lined up for the next few days or call it an array of disorganised thoughts...
Here it is :-
- Short trips to Bombay simply don't cut it - had to squeeze so much in the span of less than 24 hours on the 16th. A quick shop-stop and a hurried lunch date with Aprajita (some things never change - she still made me wait for her for over an hour). A quick catch-up with Aranyak (my host for the night) and then getting ready for the wedding reception of Tasneem's sister (the real reason for the trip). Driving down from Juhu to NCPA, the venue of the reception and a fun time with Tasneem's college friends at the reception. Then another long drive, picking up people on the way, to Bandra where we dropped off half the car-load 'coz they wanted to go clubbing. Picking up Kunal at Toto's from where we headed to Mocha for wine, which was simply divine...Back to Aranyak's place - gup-shup till 4 am...crashed for 2 hours. Left for Bombay at 6.15 am!
- Promised myself my next trip to Bombay will be MUCH longer, LESS hectic and MORE peaceful - so I can also do some of those chilled out things I enjoy in Bombay, not just race around town cramming as much as I can in the time allotted to me! ;-)
- Back in Pune for Godh-Bharai ceremony of Bhabhi - lotsa people in the house. No electricity. Fan and cooler running on invertor, till it died on us. Then we sweltered in the heat till the power came back!
- Getting my butt into action after procrastinating for months. Trying out something new in glass painting under the tutelage of young woman in same residential complex as me. Human figures as opposed to the floral/birds/abstract stuff I've done so far. Also some interesting stuff with broken glass. Tomorrow it shall be ready.
- Holy Shit, but Diplome Superieur is no cake-walk. I'm going to have to start polishing up my act - can see myself perusing Le Petit Robert - Micro (Dictionary) and le Becherelle (Grammar book for conjugation of verbs) in the immediate future. Not to mention revising Grammar, reading more French stuff and generally being an even more conscientious student.
- Bloody hot in Pune. Heat waves rise from the ground and the sun beats down on me mercilessly, when I make my way to class. The buses are like f***ing tin boxes left to roast under Phoebus' angry glare. The dust in the atmosphere coupled with the dry climate of the city makes me feel suffocated.
- My poor baby Schnapps is suffering from Gastroenteritis. He doesn't like the heat either. Spends the day in front of the Cooler, eats only Dahi-Roti and drinks lots of cold water. Mind you, it has to be cold or he won't drink it!
- I got stung by a bee on Monday. It hurt like hell - made me curse and scream in pain as I hopped over to the elevator to make my way back home, entering the house with a howl of agony that brought my mother racing to the door. She rubbed Baking soda on it and made me sleep in her air-conditioned room. By evening the swelling had gone down and my foot looked like a human foot again!
- Longing to have a tall, glass of cold ganne ka juice from one of those stalls in Nariman Point or around Asiatic, or at Andheri Station. Had to settle for awesome Cold Coffee made my mother. It comes a close second to quenching my thirst.
- Way too many mosquitoes in this hamlet. How will I ever have sexy feet that I can offer to my lover to kiss and nibble on, if these damn insects won't leave my feet in peace? Don't see him kissing feet dotted with mosquito bites, or worse covered by Mosfree! Ewwww....
- Way too many phone-calls and SMS in the past few days. Wonder how people stay glued to their phones and cell phones for hours at end. I just get so stressed when too many people suddenly decide to remember me. Am too accustomed to being Plain Jane and generally meandering through life, setting my own pace and organising it the way it suits me. Suddenly jumping through hoops stresses me out big time.
- Delhi next week is going to be just as hot as Pune, if not worse. Am dreading it, yet looking forward to going there after so many years. It's going to be a week-long affair of meeting aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces & nephews and hopefully a couple of friends I have staying in the capital city.
- That translates into a week-long hiatus from Blog-world. Be good while I'm away people - I know you'll will miss charming little irresistible moi, but don't worry you will survive ;-)

1. You mean Tasneem Godhrawala? No - she went on to do medicine (haven't met her in donkey's years since I last bumped into her in a bus once...her mom passed away 2 years back leaving her orphaned. She was already engaged to be married and I believe she got married once she finished her studies and is now in the US) This Tasneem is from my Alliance Francaise class in Bbay.
2. Awww poor kitty...Schnapps is terribly hairy (fur somehow doesn't fit his golden tresses) and though we trim etc, he still feels the heat. Plus he's spoilt.
3. Bees are COOL? Eh how?
4. LOL well when you want ganne ka juice even my mom's awesome cold coffee doesn't please ;-)
5. I want to know how you know ;-)
6. Used to be a time I thought I could exist withut cell phone but not I can't imagine it...sometimes I think I should update my poor man's model for a fancier sleeker model. Hmmm....
7.Why do you ask if I'm related to Akshay? Incidentally no I'm not...
8. *hug*
9. INERTIA?
Ok mini-post in reply to mini-post-comment! LOL!!
(Hope you remember your French! Welcome aboard :-)Btw so you did French and went to study in Germany? I also did something similar - was learning French and got sent to Germany for exchange program. Was in Magdeburg - other end from where you are. Such fond memories I have of that place...)
Parth - Well I'm glad someone's envying me!
Akshay - OW...that must have been awful. Luckily I was only stung on the foot...can't imagine being stung on the face and that too on your red letter day!
Pincushion - No thank you...quite happy with my life, though I crib abt it ever so often - ;-)
Gulnaz - It sucks when friends are so far away, doesn't it?
Aparna - Ah oui, c'est notre Tasneem de l'Alliance. Always have packed schedules on my Bbay trips, but hey there's ALWAYS time for friends...next time I'm there, we'll fix a date, pukka!
Phal - and you're invited too :-)
OK this is it...leaving early tomm morng. Adios amigos!
Rahul - Oops just saw your comment when I posted my reply - Muhaha burn away in envy mon cher while I have a rollicking time in Delh ;-)
So there you go..hope I didnt make a complete fool of myself with my rusty French!Hope you understood what I was saying. And in the end thanks for linking me...it is an honor...
Gee, thank you for the tasneem update. All I still care about it she sang awesome. I know. I was in love with a cocker spaniel once. but its a sad story. Bees are cool cos they look cool. Ok. Maybe. But still nothing beats cold coffee. Or maybe it's cos all my cold coffees are frappes. I'm not telling you how. I also pretend that cell phones are something that don't exist. I ask about akshay cos I try and find six degrees of separantion everywhere. And inertia is my other blog. my fiction blog. poems and fiction. click on my name for link.
